Additional Junior Bursary awards for 2010.
In 2009 the ICPSA decided to encourage the sport of clay pigeon shooting among the younger age groups and as well as introducing reduced entry fees for all those under 21 the Association also introduced a Junior Bursary Scheme.
The initial recipients of the award were Aoife Gormally, Christopher Adams and Christopher Toner and the support provided by the ICPSA saw these young shooters progress and develop to the point where they were claiming overall individual High Guns as well as seeing Toner recently shoot his first 100-300 in DTL.
This year saw an increase in the number of applications with Sean Pawley-Treacy, Robert Carter and Christopher Moriarty receiving the 2010 Bursary awards which will take the form of 15 free entries to ICPSA Registered shoots, shooting clothing and Fiocchi ammunition.
In recognition of the quality of this years applicants and the current economic climate, the LCPSA as a once off measure has also decided to supplement the ICPSA awards by providing 15 free entries to ICPSA Registered shoots to Aaron Dowling, Aoife Gormally, Jason Malone and Darren Kenny.
It is hoped that this support of our younger members will continue to bear fruit and we look forward to seeing out juniors progress both at home and abroad.
We would like to thank Liam Walsh and Knocknagoshel Shooting Grounds for their continued support of this initiative.
