The final results of the Olympic Trap, Olympic Skeet and womens Olympic Skeet events are now available
Olympic Skeet:
Team Ireland had two representatives in this discipline with Jonathan McCarthy shooting in the mens competition and Pip Watson in the ladies. The full results for these are also now posted as attachments.
Day 2-Olympic Trap:
Day two of the Olympic Trap event saw Derek Burnett shoot an opening 23 which was followed by a 24 and a 25 for a total of 121 ex 125 which while good enough for a top ten finish was one target short of a possible place in the final.
Wayne Byrne started off with a 24 leaving him well positioned with two rounds to go but a 22 in the fourth round undid much of the good work done before a final round 24 left Byrne on a total of 119.
The third member of Team Ireland David Malone finished on a total of 117 having scored 22, 24 and 22.
In the end it was Jesus Serrano and Michael Diamond who shot off for the Gold having tied after the single barrel final and it was the Spaniard who eventually claimed the spoils while England’s Aaron Heading took the third place on the podium.

Day 1-Olympic Trap:
At the end of a very high scoring day one in the Olympic Trap event Team Irelands Derek Burnett, Wayne Byrne and David Malone are all well placed on scores of 49 ex 50.
