The full results of the Olympic Skeet and Olympic Trap events are now available

The next leg of the ISSF World Cup series takes place next July in Maribor, Slovenia.

Olympic Trap.

Day 1: 26/04/11

The mens Olympic Trap event kicked off today in Beijing with three Irish participants and at the end of a wind affected day one, Shane Corrigan is the best of the Irish with a combined total of 45 (23+22) while Derek Burnett is two targets further back (21+22) and Wayne Byrne scored a pair of 19′s.

Day 2:

Todays leg of the event saw an improvement over the opening rounds in some of the Irish performance’s with Derek Burnett reurning scores of 22, 24 and 23 for a total of 112 while Shane Corrigan finished on a score of 107 (20+20+22) with Wayne Byrne two targets further back (23+21+23).

The final was an all European affair with Croatia’s Giovanni Cernogoraz taking the Gold with a total score of 145 ex 150.

Olympic Skeet.

Day 1: 21/04/11

The mens Olympic Skeet event kicked off today in Beijing with two Irish participants.

At the end of day one Irelands Jonathan McCarthy followed up his opening 25 straight with a 23 for a score of 48 ex 50 in what is a high scoring competition while Sean Pawley Treacy finished with a total of 43 after scoring 18 in round two.

Day 2:

Jonathan McCarthy added to his opening day scores with consistent rounds of 22, 22 and 23 to finish on a very good total score of 115 ex 125 while Sean Pawley Treacy returned rounds of 22, 23 and 21 to end up with a total of 109.

With scores of 123 having to shoot off to make the final, Antonakis Andreou eventually took the top spot for Cyprus while equaling the World Record.

The Ireland Olympic Trap Team are not now in action until the 26th with official practice taking place the day before.
