This years International Clay Target Shooting Council ABT Home Countries International Tournament takes place on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th September next 

The venue is the National Shooting Grounds, Ashbourne, Co. Meath

The Satellite Navigation coordinates for the club are N53.51189° W006.38169° or N53 30' 42.8" W006 22' 54.1".

Mr. John Lyons will be the venue liaison point of contact (00 353 87 6374434 or jolyons08@eircom.net) for any queries with regard to the Tournament or general requirements. 

The Tournament will be held over 200 targets with Teams of: 

  • Senior- Team of 12 persons with 10 scores to count.
  • Lady- Team of 3 persons with 2 scores to count.
  • Veteran (60 or over on 01/01/12) - Team of 3 persons with 2 scores to count.
  • Junior (under 21 on 01/01/12) - Team of 3 persons with 2 scores to count.

Practice will be available at the venue on Wednesday 12th September from noon to 5pm and on Thursday 13th from 11am to 6pm.  

There will be an Open Shoot on the Sunday 16th September with a €35 entry fee and €10 per gun payback plus it will be a 9am start to facilitate anyone travelling home that day.  ACTA will also be hosting a pre-Tournament Open Shoot on Sunday 9th September again with a €35 entry fee and €10 per gun payback

The post-Tournament banquet plus the Team photographs will take place at the Ashbourne House Hotel, Ashbourne, Co. Meath (000 353 1 8358400 http://ashbournehousehotel.com/ and info@ashbournehousehotel.com) and a special rate of €70 B&B Double and €40 B&B Singleis available through Mr. John Lyons and early booking is recommended. 

The Residents Hotel (00 353 1 8359300, http://www.theresidentshotel.com/ and info@theresidentshotel.com) is located across the road from the Ashbourne House Hotel and the cost of accommodation here is €60 Double B&B and €40 Single B&B.  Accommodation can be booked directly and quote the prices above as well as the fact that you are attending the shoot.  Please note that they do have a noisy disco on the Friday and Saturday nights.

There is also a Marriot Hotel in Ashbourne (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/dubma-ashbourne-marriott-hotel/) plus the area is well served by local B+B accommodation.  One establishment that we can recommend is The Aisling Guest House (00 353 1 8350359, http://www.aislingguesthouse.ie and info@aislingguesthouse.ie) which is situated 1 mile from Ashbourne and the cost of accommodation is €60 Double/twin B&B,  €35 Single B/B and €75 for a triple room B&B. 

Visitors from outside the Republic of Ireland will need a visitors shotgun certificate.  Please find attached an application form for a visitor's firearms certificate and some details on the process.

The cost per certificate is €40 and the minimum age for the granting of a visitors certificate is 16 and therefore all Team members MUST be a minimum of this age at the time of the event and we would like to remind you that a licence is required for each firearm.

Applications plus payment (cheques or drafts made payable to Ashbourne Garda District) should be sent to Mr. Conal Ferry, The Superintendent's Office, Ashbourne Garda Station, Ashbourne, Co. Meath or to John Lyons (cheques or drafts made payable to ACTA).  We would request that applications for visitors certificates be made en-bloc please and at least 30 days in advance of the event to allow for processing.
