Our membership covers the thirty two counties and carries on the sport through the Clubs affiliated to the Association.

An affiliated club is one that has been inspected for safety reasons principally and accepted by the Association as a Club which may hold registered shoots. Registered shoots are granted by the Association to affiliated clubs for the purpose of competition shooting and the members may enter these shoots and obtain a classification standard which enables the process of selection for National and International competition. Many members however shoot for sport and are not actively engaged in competition.

The Association welcomes new members who will always be received in the Clubs with courtesy and encouragement.

In addition to the International Clay Target Shooting Council which is the representative body for the home countries the ICPSA is also affiliated to the International Clay Target Shooting Federation whose membership includes the representative federations from Northern Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, France, Sweden, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

We are also affiliated to the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF), the European Shooting Confederation (ESC) and the Federation Internationale de Tir aux Armes Sportive de Chasse (FITASC) and other appropriate bodies catering principally for the Olympic and international competition disciplines.

Shooters from all International Associations are given reciprocal arrangements as visiting members, and are always welcomed to our Clubs and registered shoots.

Any incoming shooters should hold a gun licence and a European Firearms Permit should they wish to import a gun into Ireland. They will also require a visitors firearms certificate issued by the Gardai on behalf of Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform.

The Association is one of a number of National Governing Bodies in sport which are supported by the Irish Sports Council and the Olympic Council of Ireland in promoting our International athletes in the Olympic disciplines and the ICPSA is also a member of the Federation of Irish Sport and the Northern Ireland Sports Forum.
